Executive Board Member, Randstad NV, Americas Zone
As member of the executive board of management of Randstad NV (appointed April 2007), Mr. Netland is responsible for the Americas Zone which includes the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
Mr. Netland has over 20 years of staffing industry experience starting with Sapphire Technologies in 1987 where he played an integral role in transforming an $8 million IT staffing firm with one office into a $400 million IT staffing company with 40 offices nationwide. In addition to growing the US IT business, Netland was involved in further developing and expanding the Sapphire brand internationally as the President of Sapphire Technologies Worldwide.
With the rapid advancement of technology and the introduction of Vendor Management Systems, Netland has been involved in efforts to help create standards for the industry and to analyze and monitor vendor management systems and trends. These efforts led to a number of key business partnerships and to the development of a Managed Service business (GMS) which he served as President until 2007.
In 1994, Netland played a key role in the company's successful integration with Select Appointments (Holdings) Ltd., and again in 1999 when Select merged with Randstad Professionals US. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Randstad Professionals US in 2001 and then again to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in 2003, setting a strategy and focus that enabled the North American business to more than double in size by 2007.
Netland has most recently been involved in the merger of Vedior NV with Randstad NV and became appointed to the Executive Board of Management, Randstad NV. As an Executive Board Member, he will oversee the Americas Zone, consisting of the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
Netland received his BA in Economics with a Minor in Math from Bowdoin College in 1984 and is active in many associations and user groups in the Staffing Industry.
